How have we achieved carbon-neutral status?
Crown Oil Environmental has been providing environmental services for almost ten years to support our customers with their fuel-related needs as well as helping them switch to renewable fuels. But that’s not all we’ve been doing to help clean up the planet – we’ve taken a massive step toward net zero carbon emissions by being certified carbon neutral this April 2022.
Whilst we’re proud of this industry-first milestone, it’s only a stepping stone on the way to becoming a completely net zero company by 2030.
What is carbon neutral?
Carbon neutral means that any CO2 released into the atmosphere from a company’s activity is balanced by an equivalent amount being removed using carbon credits.
What is net zero?
Net zero means achieving a balance between the greenhouse gases we emit and those we remove once they have been reduced as much as is possible .
How can we be carbon neutral as a fuel company?
To ensure transparency and continual improvement towards our externally verified carbon neutral status, we’ve obtained certification to the PAS 2060 standard which involves:
- Assessment of GHG emissions based on accurate measurement data
- Emission reduction through a target-driven carbon management plan
- Offsetting excess emissions through the purchase of carbon credits
- Documentation and verification through qualifying explanatory statements and public disclosure
